Art by African-Americans, and about Black American culture

 

Much of the "Black Americana art" in this section is about Black American culture and Black American history. Increasingly though, art by African-American artists is entering the "main stream". Some of this art is old, but much is contemporary. Among the by now well-known names are Manet Harrison Fowler, Coleman, Ferrer, K. A. Young, Holmes, Weeden, Mash, E. W. Kemble - to name but a few.
