Reproductions of historic Black Americana
Many items from the earlier periods of African-American history in the United States have become very rare. Paper documents, photos, prints and such are extremely perishable, while other items like slave tags were often thrown away in horror. Recently however, the interest in those long gone items has increased, even to the extend that reproductions or replicas are being made. This includes crockery, salt & pepper shakers, Mammys, minstrel posters and, in fact, all kinds of memorabilia and Black American collectables that have become scarce. For those who wish to respectfully remember the eras and horrors of slavery, segregation and discrimination but don't have the money to invest in real African-American memorabilia, the replicas and reproductions offer a chance to own the next best thing.
