Books about Black slavery in America
Books about Black slavery in America have been written from the very beginning of this atrocious concept. Recently, more and more texts by (former) slaves and their descendants are being published, giving a totally different view from earlier racist slavery books. Many books are sad, even disgusting reading. On the other hand they offer us tales of hope, inner power and endurance. To my European mind America is still an incredibly racist society, but hopefully this is changing. May this section of our Black Americana website contribute to this change.
