Africans in the diasporara: Santeria and Lukumi

 

Yes, I know: there's much more to the religious impact of the African diaspora than only Santeria and Lukumi (Lucumi). Candomblé for example counts many more adherents in Brazil only, than Lukumi all over the world. And all over the Caribbean you'll find many other versions of African Traditional Religions, like Shango on Trinidad, and Voodoo (Vodoun) on Haïti.

However, on account of Santeria, which is increasingly becoming known as Lukumi or Lucumi, having put down roots in the United States, their access to computers and internet tends to be better than that of religious branches in less developed countries - with the result that some very good Santeria bargains can be had on eBay!
