Ofun-Ogbe

"The Rere-tree, tree of the forest.
Rere-tree, the tree of the fields,
Peregun shivers", the awo of Esumeri,
was the one who cast for Ofun, on the day
That Ofun was going to beat Ogbe to death.
Well now! Ofun was strongly advised
to make sacrifice, in order for Ogbe
to survive the beating. What was the sacrifice?
A ram. Ofun listened, and made the sacrifice.
And so it came to happen that Ofun won the fight,
and that the beaten Ogbe stayed alive.
Ifa says that a fight, or a severe problem,
is coming. The ebo to deal with this, is 1 ram.

was cast for Turtle, on the day
that he went to market with monsters,
with disturbing ghosts and spirits.
They told him to sacrifice, so that he
would be able to come back in peace.
Three roosters, 6600 cowries,
and some lobsters were the sacrifice.
The turtle listened, and made the sacrifice.
He made a safe journey to the market,
and managed to return in peace.
