Ogbe-Irete

"Let the fool do foolish things,
the wise man does wise things"
was the one who cast for Employer.
Ifa says there is a person
that is being considered for a new position,
for a new function or a job.
Ifa says that this person is totally unsuitable
for that kind of job, that kind of work:
on account of his character he is
utterly unsuitable for the job.
Nothing good is to be expected from him,
on the contrary: in many ways
only bad can be expected
from this person in this job.
"Let the fool do foolish things,
the wise man does wise things"
was the one who cast for Employer,
who was instructed to
sacrifice to the Egun, in order
to find a person better suited.
After having recited the above text, the Awo may continue reciting the following additional information:
Ifa says that this person
is neither stupid nor uneducated,
but unfortunately unable of critical reflection
on their own instincts and judgements.
This person has a tendency to manipulate.
Ifa says that this particular person
will never be satisfied with what he gets,
but will constantly strive to get more.
In no way will he, for whom this position
is considered, direct all their energies
towards making a good job of it;
this person will use most of their energy
for things and thangs, for bits and bobs,
that have nothing to do with the position
that he is being considered for.

"While they wish him to die inside the forest
he was busy erecting mansions.
While they wish his corpse to rot away without
receiving a decent burial,
he kept on accumulating expensive dresses
As they wished him to live a lonely life
without anyone to assist him,
he was mounting female horses
after dismounting male horses".
Those were the ones who cast Ifa for Orunmila,
on the day that he lived in anticipation of
the evil machinations of his enemies.
They instructed him to sacrifice.
Orunmila obeyed and made the sacrifice.
An Awo's enemies have now become a well boiled yam;
With great enthousiasm Will Ifa consume them all,
with great enthousiasm and with relish.
An Awo's enemies have become a well cooked
Yanrin vegetable; with great satisfaction
Will Ifa consume them all,
With great satisfaction.

"It is a bad idea to step into one's life
without knowing the Odu that gave birth to it"
was the one who divined for Olupo Alaelu, on the day
that he wept because no good things would come to him in life.
There was Olupo Alaelu, whose life was hard as rocks
and sharp as broken pot sherds.
They told him to make sacrifice.
Olupo Alaelu listened and made the sacrifice,
and it wasn't long, it was not far away,
that all good things in life beganto come to him.
"It is a bad idea to step into one's life
without knowing the Odu that gave birth to it"
was the one who divined for Olupo Alaelu, on the day
that he wept because no good things would come to him in life.
Making sacrifices helps - not making sacrifice
has never helped a person.
