Oshe-Odi
"The right way and the wrong way"
was cast for "I'm too precious, I don't want to"
on the day that she ignored all good advice,
squandered her husbands money and her own,
paid no attention to Ifa nor Orisha, and took
her own road that, unfortunately,
led nowhere. Ifa said: "Oh, but this own road
is not your own road at all!" Listen to Ifa!
Ifa says that "I'm too precious, I don't want to"
simply means that you're too lazy to do
those things that are part of your best destiny.
Ifa says that this Odu speaks of
a sore lack of self-discipline. And Ifa says
that you have so many options, so many possibilities,
so many qualities! In short: make sacrifice
for realizing your best destiny.
This particular text of Oshe-Odi sure looks like a real pisser (wide grin!), but please be aware that Ifa can only heal sore spots if it puts the finger on it first! What is said here, is that the client is subconsciously overwhelmed by all the options and possibilities in his Destiny, making it difficult to make the right choices on a conscious level. If there's only a choice between going left and going right, it's not too difficult and you've got a 50/50 chance of making the correct choice anyway. But if there are a hundred options... yes, then it becomes confusing! That was the bad news... now the good news! The vast majority of the client's options are good, which kind of means that you can simply take your pick... as long as you do pick an option! What has been happening to the client lately, is that he has been drifting along on the stream of life, without actively setting a course... while you thought that setting a course was exactly what you were doing! But... it wasn't! Sure... picking no road is also a way of picking a road... if you don't care where you're going any road will do. So pick yourself up, develop some more discipline, and follow Ifa's advice concerning the road(s) to choose.
Oshe-Odi
When Oshe-Odi comes with Iré ("good fortune"), there usually is a change coming up in the client's life circumstances. It may be a crisis or a traumatic experience that has its source outside the client's consciousness. This Odu admonished the client to prepare for sort of cataclysmic event, en emphasizes the need for deliberately creating some order and harmony inside yourself (brain, mind, household...). The need for purity is truly great when it comes to the development of ideals end principles. You should think of good examples, of role models. Ask yourself "What would he/she have done in my present circumstances?", taking care the the he/she was a good role model, of course (wide grin)! There's another aspect of this Odu that fights itself to the foreground: there's an indication of a passionate love affair... or... a crisis in a present one! Anyway, Iré means that there's nothing the matter than cannot be fairly easily solved, usually by simply reading and digesting what is being said, and changing your lifestyle and attitude accordingly.
