Oshe-Oyeku

Ajisegiri Anikansekusunwon cast for Oshe,
ho was invited to sacrifice, in order
to become popular, and not to be poor.
They told him to offer a calabash palm oil,
a calabash cocoa butter, 3200 cowries, and ewe.
Grind the bark of the root of the iroyin-tree
with the inside stuff of the aridan-fruit,
mix this with black soap, shove it with
some palm oil and cocoa butter underneath,
into a calabash. This medicine is for bathing.
Oshe listened, and made the offering.

Oshe-Oyeku

Oshe-Oyeku is an important Odu when it comes to establishing contact tith the Ancestors. When pouring libation to the Egun/Ancestors, you can use an invocation from Oshe-Oyeku:

I pay respect to Oshe-Oyeku, and
I am greeting you, my Friends!
The black bird that touched the dye
in the name of all Babalawo's, the blackbird
that touched the dye in the name of all
Babalawo's and in its own name, oh yes,
the sixteenth time we light a fire
in the back of Oshe. Oh no, those
sixteen fires do not harm me,
the roaring fire burns to the right,
the roaring fire burns to the left,
it burns in the sixteen places, all
sixteen places we make fire of wisdom.
When I did not know the road to follow,
I should have followed Destiny. Ashé!
