Otura-Osa

"I am not afraid, I am not scared,
my body is very cool" cast for Olokun,
on the day that the sea wanted to stay
very calm. They told Olokun to sacrifice,
in order for his body to be very cool.
The sacrifice was a calabash of palm oil,
a kalabash of palm kernel oil, a snail,
a sheep, a pigeon, a ram, a thunder axe,
44,000 cowries, and ewe.
Olokun listened and made the sacrifice.

Otura-Osa

Otura-Osa can be a bit of a stinker, to put it mildly. When this Odu comes with ibi, more often than not it turns out that the client is obsessed with exterior things, paying far too little attention to interior things. In my practice I encountered this Odu fairly often with women who were much concerned with their looks (often looking bloody gorgeous indeed!), and still they could't get laid, or at least were unable to build a pleasant relationship with any member of the opposite gender. Even when the Odu comes with iré, it can be difficult for tyhe (female) client to channel her sexual energies in such a way that they become productive. It's not confined to females, by the way: every now and then the Awo encounters a bloke with similar issues. However, in my personal experience as a diviner since 1982, some 90% of the sexual issues pertained to female clients. The problem usually is caused by an unwillingness to compromise and/or make sacrifices - not only in daily life, but also the sacrifices Ifa prescribes. The Awo really needs to convince Otura-Osa clients of the need to sacrifice in order to make life better!
