"A cabin with a very small round hole"
was cast for the people of Ogere, on the day
that they were looking for abundance.
The people of Ogere refused to sacrifice,
and they remained poor forever.
The sacrifice is 200 palm dates,
4 pigeons and 40 cowries.

"Ijanrigi is the diviner for Ijanrigi,
Ijanrigi is the diviner for the blind man"
was the one who cast Ifa for the Blind Man,
on the day that he said he would go out and shoot
the Agbe-bird, and hit it in its blue-feathered spot.
"Ijanrigi is the diviner for Ijanrigi,
Ijanrigi is the diviner for the blind man"
was the one who cast Ifa for the Blind Man,
on the day that he said he would go out and shoot
the Aluko-bird, and hit it in its red-feathered spot.
"Ijanrigi is the diviner for Ijanrigi,
Ijanrigi is the diviner for the blind man"
was the one who cast Ifa for the Blind Man,
on the day that he said he would go out and shoot
the antilope, and hit it in its dark stripe on its back.
"Ijanrigi is the diviner for Ijanrigi,
Ijanrigi is the diviner for the blind man"
was the one who cast Ifa for the Blind Man,
on the day that he said he would go out and shoot
the parrot, and hit it in its red tail feather. O dear,
oh Blind Man, what happens to the Big Mouth?
Can the Blind Man hit what he cannot see?
The told him to make sacrifice of 24,000 cowries,
one pigeon, and one rooster. Blind Man went and
collected the sacrifice, he made the sacrifice.
Additionally he made adimu, consisting of
a bow string, a bow, and an arrow. Once he had done this,
Eshu took a liking to Blind Man, and having Eshu like you
is always a very good thing! Then the competition began.
Every participant wanted the Agbe-bird, the parrot and
the antilope to sit or stand still for a moment to make
hitting easier... but the animals wouldn't comply
nobody hit any of them. Then they said jokingly:
"It's your turn now, Blind Man! Show us how to shoot!"
Blind Man took his bow and arrow, placed the arrow on the string,
and shot... hitting Agbe in its blue-feathered spot.
Blind Man took his bow and arrow, placed the arrow on the string,
and shot... hitting Aluko in its red-feathered spot.
Blind Man took his bow and arrow, placed the arrow on the string,
and shot... hitting Parrot in its red tail feather.
Blind Man took his bow and arrow, placed the arrow on the string,
and shot... faster than anybody could see,
hitting the antilope in its dark stripe.
The King invited Blind Man to his Court, and made him rich,
so the Awo's could joyfully say: "He listened and made the sacrifice,
and an abundance of blessings came towards him"!
If asys that there are blessings coming up, and adds
that this person has magical powers. Ifa says that he should
pay attention to these powers, and do useful things with them
And Ifa says that there's a person who is badly underestimated,
but he will win Eshu over to his side, and will surprise everybody
around him. Any handicap we have we will conquer, in the sense
that we will not get rid of it, but it will no longer bother us.

"When an elephant dies on one farm,
its tail lies on the other farm" were the ones
who cast Ifa for the people of Olijede and for
the people of Onitiyo, on the day that an elephant died
on the farm of Olijede, but its tail was lying on
the next farm, which was part of Onitiyo. The people
of Olijede said the elephant was theirs, and the people
of Onitiyo also said that the elephant was theirs. Oh dear,
a war was about to start! Both people visited the Awo's
who instructed them to sacrifice, in order to prevent them
from experienceing the need to fight. A he-goat and
12,000 cowries were the sacrifice. Did both peoples
make the sacrifice? Oh yes, they did... but only
after three months, when he elephant had aready
fully decomposed, and then the sacrifice
was not even accepted! Only the ivorytusks
remained, and Eshu gave on to the people
of Onitiyo and the other to the people
of Olijede, with the instruction not to fight anymore.

Ifa says there is no better time to act
than right now. Don't wait till the elephant
has decomposed, Ifa says, for rotten meat
can't be eaten! Don't wait... it wil only
get worse. Give a good offering to Eshu, oh
yes, give a very good offering to Eshu!
